LASER Technology
LASER based conservation
LASER technology is being used worldwide for the conservation and cleaning of historical buildings and artefacts. The reason for this is that the light is adjusted so that it is not invasive and does not damage the original art or architecture. With LASERs, precision and control it is possible that unwanted material is destroyed but the original material remains unharmed. Examples are calcium oxalate on marble, gilding on bronze and other materials in antique documents and textiles.
Our team has successfully cleaned depositions of black crust, carbon, carbon + oil from temple lamps, Biological depositions like algae and fungus too can be LASER cleaned from stone walls without any change to the original surface. Marble, Sandstone, Granite, Silver, Copper, Gold, Bronze, Ceramics, Glass and wood have all been cleaned and restored to their original form with LASER technology.
The LASER Machines work on various parameters such as three different wavelengths, and power settings to obtain the_ required results based on the material & deposition. This is how ‘we are able to achieve accurate results without damaging the surface.
As per the name, our all women team of dedicated and talented engineers are trained to use a LASER system to clean and restore historical sites, monuments, paintings and artefacts.
Our institute is a proud owner of a very technologically advanced European LASER system for this purpose
